Challenge
As a family-owned grocery store chain in the upper Midwest, Lunds & Byerlys needed to take their marketing efforts to the next level to stand out in a field of much larger competitors. In order to attract a new audience that might not necessarily be engaged by traditional flyer-based advertising, we moved forward with an entirely new strategy.
To date, since our partnership with Lunds & Byerlys began, their Facebook audience has more than doubled and their Instagram audience has increased by over 1500%, with impressions on both platforms increasing over 800%.

We focused on what made this small-but-mighty grocery chain different from the rest — quality, expertise, and the ability to connect with their shoppers on a personal level. We used those elements to expand their marketing efforts outside the store and into the digital sphere.

We use this marketing space to share content on a personal level, not just about shopping for food, but eating it, preparing it, and sharing it with others. We’re creating a grocery experience with an emotional connection.
Our content marketing team includes copywriters, photographers, videographers, and professional chefs, along with experts in email and social media. We tell the stories that only a local, independent grocer can tell. We develop recipes that highlight the best ingredients — often locally produced — and inspire consumers not only to cook but also to explore their Lunds & Byerlys store. We build and maintain a customized editorial calendar based on seasonality, trends, and promotional needs.
