Email Is Amazing. Here’s Why

Spam aside, every newsletter that lands in someone’s inbox is one they’ve actively chosen to receive. A person’s inbox is carefully curated and deeply personal — it’s one of the most intimate feeds in their online life.

For marketers who can earn a person’s trust and keep their interest — especially as one-click unsubscribing becomes easier — an email inbox is one of the most valuable places to be.

But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what the research says:

Email marketing revenue is surging. The worldwide email market is expected to reach $17.9 billion by 2027 — up from $7.5 billion in 2020.

Young people use email to make purchases. According to a survey by Edison Mail, as reported in Medium: “Gen Z (60%), Millennials (67%), and Generation X (64%) are more likely to rely on their email inbox for online shopping (e.g. coupons, offers, and purchases) compared to Baby Boomers (55%) and the Silent Generation (50%).”

But with numbers like these, pointing out the differences in email-related generational shopping habits is splitting hairs — the 55% and 50% numbers for Baby Boomers and the Silent Generation are substantial. The real takeaway is that everyone uses email to guide their shopping.

Email is growing. The number of worldwide email users in 2022 was 4.26 billion. That number is set to hit 4.73 billion users in 2026.

Email is worth the investment. 41% of marketers count email as their most effective channel, and

email has an average ROI of $36 for every $1 spent.

In short, consumers come to their inbox to discover deals, find out what’s new with their favorite brands, and solve problems. We can help you create relevant, effective, and visually stunning emails that keep people clicking, connecting, and purchasing.
